João Silva Leite

João Silva Leite (1981) is architect by Faculty of Architecture - Technical University of Lisbon (2005) and PhD in Urbanism (2016) by University of Lisbon, with the thesis “Emergent Streets”, funded by a PhD grant from the FCT (2011-2014) and by AUSMIP Plus international program (2015, fellow at University of Tokyo). He is an Assistant Professor at Lisbon School of Architecture and member of formaurbis LAB, an urban morphology research laboratory.
He regularly publishes and participates in international seminars related with urban form, specially with the topics around the urban infrastructures or public spaces renewals. He integrated the team of several funded research projects and currently he is team member of “Building Typology”and “MetroPublicNet” both at Lisbon School of Architecture.
Since 2017 is developing a post-doc research at Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto with the theme "Start-Up Buildings: Ambiguous spatial interactions between the building and structuring axes of the metropolis of Lisbon”. In 2014 he was awarded with international prize of the IX BIAU, in the category of research - master thesis in 2012
