Marina Vasconcellos Carvalho has a bachelor in Arts and Design (PUC-Rio), an MSc in Architecture and Urbanism (PPGAU-UFF) and developed her PhD in Urbanism at Lisbon University School of Architecture. The research issues are signs and city. Marina has worked as a planner of visual information and the research focus is on wayfinding systems on routes and their impact on sustainable mobility.

Marina finished her PhD in 2023 with the thesis 'Caminhos do design urbano para cidades sustentáveis: o caso dos cruzamentos nas infraestruturas cicláveis'.
