Mauro Pereira research is focused on the relationship between the built environment and active travel. He has a specific focus on multimodal accessibility definition and measurement, as it can be conceived as a mediator of this relationship and as an urban planning tool to promote physical activity and health. Recent research is focused on active accessibility measurement, Transit-oriented Development, planning and design of pedestrian environments, and healthy urban planning.
